Gallag is a 1982 arcade fixed shooter and one of the most widely circulated bootleg versions of Namco’s seminal classic, Galaga. Players pilot a starfighter at the bottom of the screen, defending against waves of insect-like alien craft that dive in intricate formation patterns. It retains the same iconic gameplay and distinctive dual-fighter mechanics as the original arcade release.
How to Play
The objective is to destroy all enemy formations to advance to the next stage while avoiding collisions and enemy fire. Use the Arrow Keys to move your ship left and right. Press Z or X to fire your weapon. Use Shift to insert a coin and Enter to start the game.
Tips
- Allow a Boss Galaga to capture your ship with its tractor beam. On your next life, shoot down that Boss Galaga while it is diving to rescue your ship and gain dual-firing capabilities.
- Be careful not to shoot your own captured fighter by mistake, as this will destroy it permanently.
- During the bonus “Challenging Stages,” enemies do not fire. Focus entirely on memorizing their flight patterns to score a perfect 10,000 point bonus.
