Game description:

Flipull (Japan) is a tile-matching puzzle game developed by Taito for the Game Boy in 1990. Originally released in arcades as Plotting, this faithful port tasks players with clearing a grid of patterned blocks by launching their held block into the stack. When your block strikes a matching symbol, it eliminates all contiguous identical blocks in that line, and you catch the block directly behind them for your next shot. Reaching the target clear percentage on each stage requires careful forward planning so you never end up holding a block with no matches.

How to Play

Your goal is to meet the stage clear quota before running out of time or viable moves.

  • D-pad (Arrow Keys): Move your character along the edge of the board.
  • A Button (Z Key): Shoot your held block. It must hit a matching symbol.
  • B Button (X Key): Cancel or use special functions.
  • Start (Enter): Pause the game.

Tips

  • Plan your swaps: You inherit the block immediately behind the group you just cleared. Always scan the board first to ensure your newly acquired block will have a valid target.
  • Manage your layout: Clearing blocks shifts the remaining stack. Keep an eye on how the columns will adjust to avoid trapping necessary patterns.
