Flipull: An Exciting Cube Game is an engaging puzzle game developed by Daiei Seisakusho and published by Taito for the NES in 1989. Also known as Plotting in arcades, the game challenges players to clear a wall of patterned blocks. You control a character holding a block, which you throw at the wall; if it hits a block with the matching symbol, it clears that block and any matching ones adjacent to it. You then receive a block with the symbol of the one you hit, forcing you to think several steps ahead to keep clearing the board.
How to Play
Your objective is to clear enough blocks to advance to the next level before running out of valid moves. The game is played using standard NES controls:
- Movement: Arrow Keys (D-pad)
- Throw Block: Z or X (A/B)
- Pause: Enter (Start)
Tips
- Think Ahead: Always look at what symbol you will be receiving after your throw. Try to plan two or three moves in advance so you don’t get stuck with a block you can’t match.
- Use Special Blocks: Special wildcard blocks can match with anything and are lifesavers when you run out of valid options. Use them strategically rather than wasting them early in a stage.
- Watch for Gravity: Blocks fall down when the ones below them disappear. This can disrupt your planned matches if you aren’t careful, but can also be used to bring hard-to-reach blocks down to your level.
