Game description:

Yakuman (1989) is a digital mahjong simulation developed by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo. It holds a distinct place in gaming history as one of the four original launch titles for the Game Boy in Japan, alongside Alleyway, Baseball, and Super Mario Land. Notably, it was the first game on the handheld to utilize the Game Link Cable for multiplayer functionality. The title presents a straightforward, traditional Japanese mahjong experience against AI opponents.

How to Play

The objective is to build a winning mahjong hand, consisting of four melds and a pair, before your opponent does. The game uses the standard Game Boy control scheme. Navigate your hand and select tiles using the D-pad (mapped to the arrow keys in your browser). Press A (Z) to confirm a selection or discard a tile, and B (X) to cancel an action. Use Start (Enter) to pause the game or advance through menus.
