Family Jockey is Namco’s 1987 NES horse-racing game. You race as a jockey, steering your horse around a track against a field of opponents. One of Namco’s more understated Famicom sports releases, it is easy to start and rewards attention to the racing line.
How to play
Guide your horse with the arrow keys. X is the NES A button and Z is B — used to urge your horse forward. Enter starts races and confirms menus; Shift is Select. A second player can join for local two-player races.
Tips
Take the inside line through each corner to shave distance from your lap. Push hardest in the final stretch — that is where positions change most.
