Elevator Action is a Taito arcade game from 1983, ported to the Atari 2600 the same year. You play a spy tasked with infiltrating a tall building, collecting secret documents from red-door rooms floor by floor, then reaching the getaway car waiting at the bottom — all while enemy agents hunt you down.
How to play
Use the building’s elevators to move between floors. Walk in front of a red door to collect the secret document inside — those are the only doors that matter; blue doors hold nothing. Once every document on the building is collected, ride the final elevator to the ground floor and reach the car to complete the level. Enemy agents spawn from both sides and shoot on sight. You can return fire with the trigger button, or position an elevator platform above a guard and ride it down to crush them, which scores a bonus.

Tips
- Skip all blue doors — only red doors contain documents, and stopping at the wrong door costs time and exposes you to guards.
- Crushing an enemy with a descending elevator scores more points than shooting; position yourself on the platform, wait for a guard to walk underneath, then ride it down.
- Later levels add faster, more aggressive agents — keep moving downward rather than standing to fight, because reaching the car is the goal, not clearing every enemy.
