Crack’ed is a 1988 fixed-screen arcade-style shooter for the Atari 2600, developed by Robert Neve and published by Atari Corporation. Taking on the role of a nest defender across multiple stages like trees, barns, and sewers, your goal is to shoot down egg-stealing pests—including hornets, roosters, and snakes—before they break the eggs left in your care.
How to Play
Aim your crosshair across the screen to eliminate invading animals before they reach the egg nests. Each round presents distinct enemy patterns and movement speeds. Points are awarded for destroying predators, and any remaining eggs carry over into subsequent stages.
Default browser controls for Player 1 use the Arrow keys to move the crosshair, Spacebar to fire, Del for turbo fire, and Alt+P to pause. Press Alt+L to toggle between paddle and joystick control modes.
Tips
- Focus first on high-speed airborne targets like hornets and roosters, as their direct flight paths give you less time to react before they strike a nest.
- Keep your crosshair near the center of the screen during lulls to reduce the distance needed to reach enemies spawning on either flank.
- If crosshair movement feels too loose, toggle paddle mode with Alt+L for alternate control sensitivity.
