Game description:

Dual Heroes is a 1997 3D fighting game developed by Produce! for the Nintendo 64. Set on a post-apocalyptic Earth, players choose from a roster of armored, tokusatsu-style warriors fighting to stop an alien threat known as the Zodgierra. While the game’s stiff combat and slow pacing earned it a notorious reputation among fighting game fans, it stands out for its ambitious “Robot Mode”โ€”a unique feature where you can train a virtual AI fighter that learns and mimics your personal playstyle over time.

How to play

The goal in standard modes is to defeat your opponent in 1-on-1 3D arena combat by depleting their health bar using a mix of basic strikes, throws, and character-specific special moves called Lethal Changes. In the browser emulator, the Nintendo 64 controls are generally mapped to the Arrow Keys for movement, Z and X for your primary attacks (A and B buttons), and Enter for Start.

Tips

  • Train your robot carefully: When playing Robot Mode, the AI will copy your bad habits as well as your good ones. Focus on using effective combos and blocking consistently while training it.
  • Play defensively: Because character movement is stiff compared to other 3D fighters, rushing in aggressively is easily punished. It is usually safer to block your opponent’s attack strings and counterattack during their recovery frames.
