Choujikuu Yousai Macross is a side-scrolling shooter developed and published by Namco for the Famicom in 1985, based on the acclaimed anime series of the same name. Broadcast in Japan from 1982 to 1983, the show introduced the VF-1 Valkyrie transforming fighter and the Zentraedi alien army — concepts that later shaped the US Robotech franchise. Released exclusively in Japan, the game puts you in a Valkyrie cockpit to battle through Zentraedi forces across stages drawn from the series.
How to Play
This is a single-player game. Guide your fighter through each scrolling stage, shooting down Zentraedi craft as they appear. Use the arrow keys to move, X to fire (A button), and Z for your secondary weapon (B button). Press Enter to start and Shift to select.
