Released in 2001 for Capcom’s CPS-2 hardware, Choko (also known as Janpai Puzzle Chลkล) is an arcade tile-matching game developed by Mitchell Corporation. It brings an intense, time-limited twist to classic Mahjong solitaire gameplay. As you match pairs to clear the board, columns of tiles actively move toward the center, creating a fast-paced race against both the clock and the encroaching pieces.
How to Play
The objective is to clear all Mahjong tiles from the board by matching identical, free-standing pairs. Unlike traditional games, the outer columns steadily slide inward. You must clear the board before the columns collide, the timer runs out, or you are left with no valid moves.
Browser Controls:
- Arrow Keys: Move cursor
- Z / X: Select tiles
- Enter: Start
- Shift: Insert Coin
Tips
- Prioritize clearing tiles that are blocking the innermost columns to slow down the board’s convergence.
- Always plan a few moves ahead to avoid deadlocks. If you make matches that leave you with no remaining valid pairs, the game ends instantly.
