Blandia Prototype is an early arcade build of the 1992 2D fighting game developed by Allumer. Serving as the spiritual successor to Gladiator (1986), it stands out from other fighters of its era with its focus on weapon-based combat and a localized armor system. Instead of relying purely on special moves, combatants use swords, shields, and magic, systematically breaking apart their opponent’s armor to expose weak points for massive damage.
How to Play
Your goal is to defeat a roster of fantasy-themed opponents in one-on-one combat by depleting their health bars. Combat revolves around striking specific body parts to shatter the enemy’s protective gear while using your own shield to deflect incoming blows.
Controls: Press Shift to insert a coin and Enter to Start. Use the Arrow Keys for movement and jumping. The arcade action buttons (Sword, Shield, and Magic) are mapped to Z, X, C, A, S, and D in your browser.
Tips
- Target Weak Spots: Focus your strikes on a specific area to break the opponent’s armor. Once a piece of armor shatters, any follow-up attacks to that exposed spot will deal significantly more damage.
- Active Blocking: Unlike many fighting games where you simply hold back to block, defending in Blandia requires you to actively press the Shield button to absorb attacks.
