Game description:

AeroFighters Assault is an arcade-style flight combat game for the Nintendo 64, released in Europe in 1998. Developed by Paradigm Entertainment and Video System, it shifts the traditionally 2D top-down shoot-’em-up series into full 3D arenas. Players pilot famous fighter jetsโ€”including the F-14 Tomcat, A-10 Thunderbolt II, and FSXโ€”engaging the fictional Phutta Morgana organisation in frantic dogfights and massive boss battles across the globe.

How to Play

Your objective is to clear out enemy aircraft, ground targets, and heavily armed boss vehicles before time runs out. Steer your jet using the Analog Stick. The A button fires your primary machine gun, while the B button launches limited special weapons like heavy bombs or laser blasts. The Z button fires standard homing missiles. Use the C-buttons to execute evasive maneuvers and adjust your flight speed to stay on the tail of enemy fighters.

Tips

  • Each pilot has a distinct aircraft with unique speeds and special weapons; experiment with them to find the loadout that best suits the mission.
  • Conserve your defensive countermeasures. Wait to deploy chaff or flares until an incoming enemy missile is right on your tail.
  • When facing the massive boss vehicles, focus your fire on their specific turrets and weak points rather than spraying fire randomly across the hull.
