Adventures of Lolo is a single-screen puzzle game developed and published by HAL Laboratory for the NES in 1987. You play as Lolo, a small blue character on a quest to rescue Princess Lala from the Great Devil’s castle. Across 50 progressively harder rooms, the goal never changes: collect every heart container to unlock the treasure chest, then reach it to advance โ but the enemies guarding them require you to think several moves ahead before touching anything.
How to Play
Move Lolo with the arrow keys. Press X (NES A button) to fire a magic shot that petrifies most enemies, turning them into eggs you can push around the room. Some enemies cannot be frozen; others respond differently depending on direction and timing. Collect all heart containers to open the treasure chest. Chests sometimes contain a Hammer (permanently destroys an egg), a Bridge piece (lets Lolo walk over water tiles), or an Emerald Framer. Reach the open chest to clear the room.

Tips
- Push a petrified enemy egg into the line of fire of a Don Medusa or Gol โ the egg blocks the lethal shot, letting you safely collect hearts you could not otherwise reach.
- Plan your full collection route before you touch a single heart. Taking them in the wrong order can leave you boxed in with no safe path to the chest.
- Leaving and re-entering a room resets all enemies and eggs, so you can test a new approach without any cost.
