Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters is a 1993 action and fighting game developed by Konami for the NES. Releasing late in the console’s lifespan, it stands out as one of the few true 1-on-1 fighters on the 8-bit system. The game features the four turtles alongside Casey Jones, Hothead, and Shredder as playable characters, competing in both a story mode to rescue April O’Neil and a standard versus mode.
How to play
Your goal is to deplete your opponent’s health bar across two-out-of-three rounds. Each character has basic strikes, throws, and unique special moves executed with traditional directional inputs.

Tips
- Keep an eye out for the red flying device that sometimes appears in the background. It occasionally drops a red orbโcollecting it allows you to perform your character’s devastating ultimate attack.
- Special moves use familiar arcade-style quarter-circle inputs, but the NES timing is quite strict; practice the motions in versus mode to get a feel for the buffer window.
