Developed by KID to market Nissin’s U.F.O. brand of instant yakisoba, the game stars Yakisoban, a tokusatsu-style superhero who wears a bowl of noodles on his head. This specific release is the rare “Keihin Ban” (prize version), originally distributed to contest winners and featuring digitized photos of the actors from the famous Japanese television commercials. Your mission is to battle through waves of strange enemies and stop the kettle-wearing villain Kettler.

How to Play

Like most traditional brawlers, you move through side-scrolling stages fighting off groups of enemies before they can overwhelm you. Yakisoban uses martial arts, spatula strikes, and noodle-based attacks to defeat Kettler’s henchmen. You can move in eight directions, jump, and unleash a screen-clearing special move when surrounded.

Controls: Default SNES controls apply. Use the D-pad to move, Y to attack, B to jump, and A to perform a special attack (typically mapped to your keyboard’s arrow keys along with Z, X, A, and S). Press Start (Enter) to pause the game.
