Game description:

Released by Namco in 1981, Warp Warp is an early arcade multi-directional shooter that challenges players to battle alien creatures across two distinct zones. Controlling a “Monster Fighter”, you switch between the open-arena Space World and the obstacle-filled Maze World by entering a central warp point.

How to Play

The objective is to defeat waves of Berobero aliens before they reach the center of the screen or touch your character. In the Space World, you have a gun to shoot enemies from a distance, while the Maze World requires you to strategically plant delayed bombs to catch them. Controls are mapped to the standard arcade layout: use the Arrow Keys to move and Z or X to attack.

Tips

  • Watch enemy colors: Berobero aliens change color as they move closer to the center, becoming more aggressive but also yielding higher points when destroyed.
  • Use the warp strategically: Warping between worlds not only changes your weapon but can help you escape tight situations if enemies surround you in one arena.
  • Master bomb timing: In the Maze World, your bombs have a slight delay before exploding. Anticipate enemy pathing and drop bombs in chokepoints to ensure they wander into the blast.
