Ultima – Kyouryuu Teikoku is a role-playing adventure released for the Super Famicom in 1995 by Pony Canyon. Serving as the Japanese console port of Worlds of Ultima: The Savage Empire, this title transports the classic RPG formula into a prehistoric setting. As the Avatar, you find yourself trapped in the lost jungle valley of Eodon. Instead of battling traditional medieval fantasy creatures, you must navigate a treacherous landscape populated by primitive tribes, massive dinosaurs, and hostile insectoid invaders.
How to Play
Your objective is to explore the savage world of Eodon, forge alliances among the disparate native tribes, and uncover a way back home. Use the arrow keys to move the Avatar and navigate your surroundings. The X key (SNES A) is used to confirm actions, while the Z key (SNES B) cancels or backs out of menus. You can access your main interface and pause the adventure by pressing Enter (Start) or use Shift (Select) for additional options.
Tips
- Craft your own gear: Traditional armor and weapons are rare. Collect natural materials throughout the jungle, like bamboo and flint, to fashion your own survival tools and rudimentary weapons.
- Unite the tribes: Progressing through the valley requires diplomacy. Speak to the different tribal leaders to learn about their unique conflicts and find out what tasks you must complete to win their allegiance.
