Released by Konami in 1985 for the Sega SG-1000, TwinBee is an early vertical-scrolling shooter that helped establish the “cute ’em up” subgenre. Instead of gritty sci-fi settings, you pilot a cartoon spacecraft through bright stages filled with quirky enemies, combining fast-paced arcade action with a charming visual style.
How to play
Your objective is to survive the scrolling stages by shooting airborne enemies and dropping bombs on ground targets. The game is famous for its bell power-up system: shoot clouds to reveal hidden bells, then continue shooting the bells to juggle them in the air and change their colour before collecting them for upgrades.

Tips
- Juggling bells is essential for upgrades, but be careful not to shoot a bell too many times in a row, or it will break and turn into an enemy bee.
- If your ship takes a hit to its arms, you will temporarily lose the ability to drop bombs until an ambulance appears on screen to repair you.
