Turmoil is an action-shooter released by Activision for the Atari 2600 in 1982. You control a ship positioned in a central vertical alley, darting into intersecting horizontal lanes to blast incoming alien enemies before they reach the center. The gameplay is exceptionally fast-paced, requiring sharp reflexes to survive the increasingly difficult waves.
How to Play
Your objective is to destroy the waves of enemies appearing from the sides of the screen. You must move up and down the vertical alley to align with the correct lane, then fire left or right to clear it. You must avoid colliding with the enemies or allowing them to cross the center, which turns them into deadly arrows.
Controls: Use the arrow keys (ââââ) to move your ship. Press the Spacebar to fire. Press F11 to select the game mode, and F12 to reset.
Tips
- Use the alley for safety: The central column is your primary safe zone for vertical movement. Only enter the horizontal lanes to take a shot or collect a prize.
- Anticipate spawns: Watch the edges of the screen closely; enemies appear quickly, and pre-aligning your ship saves critical milliseconds.
