Totsuzen! Macchoman is a side-scrolling action platformer released for the Famicom (NES) in 1988. Known in western regions as Amagon, the game follows a stranded marine fighting his way across a hostile, monster-filled island. The defining mechanic is the ability to transform from a vulnerable human soldier into the massive, super-powered Macchoman.
How to Play
In your standard human form, you rely on a rifle with strictly limited ammunition to survive. By defeating enemies and collecting the Mega-Key item, you transform into Macchoman, gaining a huge health pool and a devastating melee punch. The game uses standard NES controls in the browser: use the Arrow keys to move, Z to jump, and X to shoot or punch. Press Enter for Start.
Tips for Survival
- Conserve your rifle ammunition while in human form; running out leaves you with no way to attack until you find more ammo or transform.
- Prioritize transforming before reaching the end-of-level bosses. The increased health and damage of Macchoman makes these encounters significantly easier.
- In Macchoman form, every hit you take depletes a portion of your transformation health. Once it runs out, you revert to the fragile human form.
