Toonsylvania is a 2000 side-scrolling platformer for the Game Boy Color, developed by RFX Interactive and published by Ubisoft as a tie-in to the Fox animated series of the same name. Players control Igor, lab assistant to Dr. Vic Frankenstein, on a quest to recover the scattered body parts of his friend Phil after a lab accident blows him apart.
How to Play
Igor fights his way through graveyards, crypts, swamps, and supernatural corridors, punching enemies up close and throwing skulls at them from range. Along the way he collects invention components that assemble into devices â a diving suit, a propeller helmet â needed to get past hazards and reach new areas. In the browser: arrow keys to move, Z/X to punch and throw, Enter/Shift for Start/Select.
Tips
- Ration your thrown skulls for enemies you can’t reach by punching â ammo is limited and running dry mid-level leaves you exposed.
- Grab every invention component you find; the diving suit and propeller helmet aren’t optional, they’re required to clear water and gap hazards later in each stage.
