The Ninja Warriors is a side-scrolling beat ’em up released by Taito for the arcades in 1987. Originally famous for its ultra-wide triple-monitor cabinet and thumping Zuntata soundtrack, the game puts you in control of advanced cybernetic assassins, Kunoichi or Ninja, on a mission to overthrow a military dictator. You must hack and slash your way through legions of heavily armed soldiers, tanks, and mutants.
How to Play
Your objective is to survive the side-scrolling gauntlet and defeat the boss at the end of each stage. For this arcade title, use the Arrow Keys to move and crouch. Press Shift to insert a coin and Enter to start. Use Z to attack with your kunai and X to throw a limited supply of shurikens.
Tips
- Your kunai can block incoming bullets if you stand and attack, which is essential for surviving the heavily armed military forces.
- Kunoichi (Player 1) is faster and more agile, while Ninja (Player 2) deals heavier damage. Choose the character that fits your playstyle.
- Watch your damage carefully; taking too much damage exposes your robotic skeleton and eventually destroys you.
