The Irem Skins Game is a classic arcade golf simulation developed by Irem and released in 1992. Running on the robust Irem M92 hardware, it delivers a colorful and fast-paced take on the sport with detailed sprites and smooth scaling effects. Up to four players can compete on the links, selecting from golfers with unique strengths and playing through a full 18-hole course.
The objective is to finish the course with the lowest score by factoring in wind, terrain, and club selection. Aim your shot and select your club using the arrow keys, then use the primary action buttons (mapped to Z or X) to operate the traditional three-click swing meter: press once to start, again to set your power, and a final time for accuracy. To begin a match, use Shift to insert coins and Enter to start.
Always check the wind indicator before swinging, as it will heavily influence your ball’s trajectory. When putting on the green, take note of the distance and slope—a lighter tap with perfect accuracy is much safer than a powerful shot that risks overshooting.
