Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II – The Manhattan Project (Japan) is a classic beat-’em-up released by Konami for the Famicom (NES). As the Japanese version of the game known elsewhere as TMNT III, it delivers fast-paced side-scrolling action where players control Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, or Donatello. You must battle through armies of Foot Soldiers, Rock Soldiers, and iconic villains to rescue April O’Neil and stop Shredder from keeping Manhattan suspended in the sky.
How to Play
The objective is to fight your way through each stage, utilizing your turtle’s unique weapon to clear screens of enemies and defeat the boss at the end of each level. Use the Arrow keys to move, Z to jump, and X to attack. Press Enter to start or pause the game, and Shift to select.
Tips
- You can perform a powerful special attack by pressing the jump and attack buttons (Z and X) at the same time, but use it carefully as it drains a small amount of your health.
- Donatello’s bo staff has the longest reach, making him an excellent choice for keeping enemies at bay safely.
- Try using the jump kick by pressing attack while in the air to quickly knock down approaching Foot Soldiers before they can strike.
