Game description:

SWAT is a unique action-puzzle shoot-’em-up developed by Coreland and published by Sega for the Arcade in 1984. Rather than a standard scrolling shooter, the game challenges you to stop swarms of alien enemies from constructing a sectional tunnel that reaches from the bottom of the screen to the top.

How to Play

Your objective is to survive and prevent the alien tunnel from completing its path. You can destroy the tunnel sections the enemies place, or physically shove them to misalign the structure and disrupt their progress. The game uses standard arcade controls, which are mapped to your keyboard: use the Arrow Keys to move your character, and the Z, X, or Shift keys to shoot and interact with the blocks.

Tips

  • Manage the blocks: Don’t just shoot blindly; use your ability to shove tunnel sections out of alignment to buy yourself more time.
  • Prioritize builders: Focus your fire on the specific enemy types that actively carry and place the tunnel sections to stall their progress.
  • Stay mobile: Keep moving to avoid getting trapped by the expanding tunnel network and the different alien variants.
