Game description:

Super Snakey is the 1994 Japanese release of the falling-block puzzle game better known in the West as WildSnake. Developed by Manley & Associates and published for the Super Famicom (SNES), it takes a familiar formula and replaces rigid blocks with slithering snakes. As snakes drop into the playfield, they naturally coil and slide into open spaces, requiring players to think about how they will settle rather than just where they land.

How to play

Instead of forming solid lines, you clear the board by connecting two snakes of the same color. Use the D-pad (Arrow Keys) to steer the falling snakes left and right or speed up their descent. Press A or B (Z or X) to rotate the snakes before they land so their colors align correctly with the pile below.

Tips

  • Look out for the flashing power-up snake. When it touches another snake, it instantly clears all snakes of that matching color from the entire board.
  • Beware the dark purple snakes. You cannot control their descent, and they chew through everything they touch, which can either save you from a jam or ruin a carefully planned combo.
