Developed by Capcom and released in 1996, Street Fighter Zero 2 Alpha (an updated version of Zero 2, known outside Japan as Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold) is a classic 2D arcade fighting game. It refines the acclaimed gameplay of its predecessor by adding new character variations, balance adjustments, and returning modes. Players select from a diverse roster of martial artists and battle through a series of matches, utilizing a three-tiered Super Combo gauge to unleash devastating special attacks or string together custom maneuvers.
How to Play
The objective is to deplete your opponent's health bar by landing strikes and throws across best-of-three rounds. As an arcade title, it traditionally uses an eight-way joystick for movement, jumping, and crouching, along with a six-button layout comprising three punches and three kicks of varying strengths (Light, Medium, and Heavy). In the browser emulator, use the mapped directional keys to move and the designated action keys to execute normal attacks, Insert Coin, and Start.
Tips
- Custom Combos: Press two punch and one kick button (or two kicks and one punch) simultaneously when you have at least one level of the Super Combo gauge to activate a Custom Combo. This temporarily removes recovery frames, allowing you to rapidly chain attacks that normally wouldn't link.
- Alpha Counters: While blocking an opponent's attack, press forward and the punch or kick button of the same strength (requiring one level of the gauge) to immediately strike back and break their pressure.
- Fall Breaking: If you are knocked into the air, press any two punch buttons as you fall to recover quickly and avoid being trapped in the corner.
