Stinger is a vertical-scrolling shoot ’em up developed and published by Konami for the NES in 1987. Its bright, cartoonish visual style sets it apart from the military-themed shooters that dominated the genre, and it supports two players flying simultaneously.
How to play
Pilot your craft through each stage, shooting enemies and collecting power-ups to build your firepower. Enemy wave patterns repeat from run to run, so learning the stage layout pays off — the game rewards memorisation as much as raw reaction speed.
Controls: arrow keys to move, X to shoot, Z for secondary fire. Enter starts the game; Shift is Select.
Tips
Keep moving rather than holding a fixed position — a stationary target is easy to surround. When a dense wave fills the screen, threading the gaps is often safer than trying to shoot everything. In two-player mode, each pilot covering one side of the screen clears waves more reliably than both clustering together.
