Star Wars: Masters of Teräs Käsi is a 3D weapon-based fighting game released for the PlayStation in 1997 by LucasArts. Set between the events of A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back, the game pits iconic characters like Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, and Boba Fett against each other in one-on-one arena battles. You fight using a combination of hand-to-hand martial arts (the titular Teräs Käsi) and signature weapons like lightsabers, blasters, and gaffi sticks.
The objective is to deplete your opponent’s health bar in standard best-of-three rounds. Each character has a unique move list that changes depending on whether their weapon is drawn or holstered. In the browser emulator, use the arrow keys to move, jump, and crouch. The core attack buttons (Square, Triangle, Cross, Circle) are mapped to your keyboard’s Z, X, A, and S keys. Press Enter to pause the game, and Shift for Select.
When fighting against characters with blasters, use the side-step maneuver to dodge incoming fire rather than trying to block it, as projectiles can chip away your health. Additionally, keep an eye on your character’s Force meter at the bottom of the screen; once it fills up from taking or dealing damage, you can execute a powerful, unblockable special move that can turn the tide of a match.
