Sonic 1 Tokyo Toy Show Remake is a fan-made Sega Genesis project that recreates the early prototype of Sonic the Hedgehog shown at the 1990 Tokyo Toy Show. It allows players to experience early level designs, alternate background art, and other prototype elements that were altered before the game’s final release.
How to play
Run, jump, and spin through the prototype zones, collecting rings and defeating badniks. The default Sega Genesis controls in your browser are the Arrow keys for the D-pad, Z, X, and C for the A, B, and C buttons, and Enter for Start.
Tips
- Keep an eye out for level layout differences and early art assets that were changed in the final retail version.
- Preserve your rings: as long as you hold at least one ring, taking damage won’t be fatal.
