Pitfall II: Lost Caverns is an ambitious 1984 platformer released for the Sega SG-1000 by Activision. Playing as Pitfall Harry, you navigate a massive, non-linear underground maze to rescue your niece Rhonda, your cowardly pet lion Quickclaw, and the Raj diamond. Unlike its predecessor, there is no time limit or extra lives; instead, touching hazards like scorpions, bats, or electric eels docks your score and warps you back to the last red cross checkpoint you touched.
How to Play
The objective is to thoroughly explore the caverns, collecting gold bars for points while searching for Rhonda, Quickclaw, and the diamond to complete the game. Move Harry left and right, climb ladders, and control your descent while falling or swimming, and jump over enemies and gaps.

Tips
- When swimming in the underground rivers, you can swim up and down to dodge the electric eels, but remember that you cannot jump out of the water; you must find a ledge or ladder to exit.
- Touching a red cross sets your respawn point. If you want to deliberately avoid updating your checkpoint, simply jump over the cross instead of touching it.
- Falling does not hurt Harry unless you land directly on an enemy or hazard.
