Game description:

Sonic 1 Hold Right To Win is a famous novelty ROM hack of the original Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega Genesis, created by the developer FruitcakeDog. Instead of the challenging platforming the series is known for, this modification playfully alters every single level layout to create an effortless, automated experience. As an “auto-runner” style game, it relies on the game’s physics engine to guide Sonic through loops, enemies, and hazards perfectly.

How to Play

Your objective is to reach the end of every stage and defeat Dr. Robotnik. The controls for the Sega Genesis normally use the D-pad and A/B/C buttons (mapped to the Arrow keys and Z/X/C in your browser), but in this specific hack, you only need to hold the Right Arrow key. Sonic will automatically hit springs, destroy enemies, and navigate the entire stage on his own.

Tips

Although it is tempting to jump, pressing any action buttons or other directional keys can throw Sonic off the hack’s carefully calculated physics path and get him stuck. Trust the level design and simply keep holding right to enjoy the spectacle.
