Soccer Kid is a platform game developed by Krisalis Software that received a late release on the PlayStation in 2003. You guide a young soccer fan traveling the globe to recover stolen pieces of the World Cup trophy, using nothing but a soccer ball to fight enemies and navigate levels.
How it plays
The entire game is built around ball control. Your soccer ball is your weapon and your main tool for reaching high areas, and if you lose it, you have to scramble to find another one before you take a hit. On the PlayStation, the D-pad moves your character, Cross is used for jumping, and Square and Circle perform different types of kicks and ball tricks. In the browser, these controls are usually mapped to the arrow keys alongside Z, X, C, and S.
Tips
You can stand on top of the soccer ball to bounce and reach higher platforms that are otherwise impossible to access. Experiment with different shots like headers and bicycle kicks, as firing the ball at an angle is often the only way to hit enemies positioned above or below you.
