SVC Chaos: SNK vs. Capcom is SNK Playmore’s 2003 crossover fighting game, built on the fast King of Fighters 2003-style engine. This copy is preserved from a dedicated Neo Geo arcade PCB wired directly for JAMMA cabinets, rather than the swappable MVS multi-cartridge system most Neo Geo games shipped on â “Set 1” is one of two surviving ROM dumps of that PCB, alongside a second (Set 2). The game itself is the same 1-on-1 fighter either way: SNK’s cast from The King of Fighters, Samurai Shodown and Fatal Fury faces off against Capcom’s Street Fighter and Darkstalkers roster, all redrawn in Neo Geo’s house sprite style, out of a 36-character roster that includes several hidden mid-bosses and bosses.
How to Play
Matches are best-of-three rounds, one fighter each, no groove or ratio select â just pick a character and fight. The Neo Geo four-button layout carries over: light punch, heavy punch, light kick, heavy kick, mapped in-browser to Z, X, C and V. Arrow keys move and block, Enter starts, and Shift inserts a coin.
Tips
- Guard Cancel Front Step: while blocking, tap forward twice to burn one level of your power gauge and dash out of your opponent’s pressure â a cheap way to escape a bad guard string instead of eating more chip damage.
- Watch the pre-fight banter: SVC Chaos gives many character matchups their own unique pre-round dialogue exchange, so pairing up different fighters is worth doing just to see the lines change.
