The Simpsons: Bart & the Beanstalk is a 1994 2D platformer developed by Software Creations for the original Game Boy. Based on the classic “Jack and the Beanstalk” fairy tale, the game follows Bart Simpson after he trades the family cow for magic beans. Players must guide him up the resulting giant beanstalk, navigating treacherous platforms and defeating enemies to reach the giant’s castle and recover stolen loot to save his family from poverty.

How to Play

Your goal across the game’s seven stages is to survive the platforming challenges and reach the end of each level. Use the D-pad (Arrow keys) to move and climb, press A (Z) to jump, and press B (X) to use your weapons to defeat enemies. Start (Enter) pauses the game.

Tips

• Use your ranged attacks to deal with enemies safely from a distance before attempting difficult jumps.
• Enemy placement can be tricky, often waiting right at the edge of platforms; take your time scrolling the screen forward to avoid taking unnecessary damage.
