Shinnyuushain Tooru Kun is an arcade action and maze game released by Konami in 1984. Originally the Japanese version of the game that would become known internationally as Mikie, this release casts the player as Tooru-kun, a new corporate employee. Instead of sneaking through high school classrooms, you navigate office environments, avoiding angry bosses and coworkers to collect hearts and eventually reunite with your girlfriend. It features the same fast-paced, multi-screen chasing gameplay that makes the arcade original a classic.
How to Play
Your objective is to collect all the hearts scattered around each stage (such as the office and cafeteria) and reach the exit before you are caught by your superiors or time runs out. Since this is an emulated arcade game, press 5 to insert a coin and 1 to start. Use the Arrow Keys to move Tooru-kun around the environment, and press the Z or X keys to perform actions like headbutting enemies or opening doors.
Tips
- Use doors to your advantage: You can stun pursuing enemies by quickly opening a door in their face.
- Watch for hidden hearts: Some hearts must be revealed by interacting with objects in the room, so be sure to check desks and other furniture.
- Headbutting is temporary: While you can attack your coworkers to briefly stun them, they will quickly recover. Focus on collecting hearts and keep moving.
