Shanghai, released in 1989 for the Game Boy, brings the classic game of Mahjong solitaire to the handheld console. In this relaxing puzzle game, your goal is to clear a massive stack of tiles by finding and matching identical pairs.
How to Play
You can only select “free” tilesโpieces that have no other tiles resting on top of them and are unblocked on either their left or right edge. Use the Arrow Keys (D-pad) to move your cursor across the board, press Z (A button) to select a tile, and press X (B button) to cancel your selection or go back.
Tips
- Try to prioritize matching tiles that will free up the most underlying pieces to keep your options open.
- Avoid matching pairs on the top layers if they do not help unblock tiles buried deeper in the stack.
