Sanrio Carnival 2 is a vibrant falling-block puzzle game released in 1993 for the NES (Famicom) by Character Soft. Starring Hello Kitty and other beloved Sanrio friends, the game plays similarly to Columns. You must arrange falling character blocks into matching lines to clear them from the board. Beyond the standard endless and competitive two-player versus modes, completing certain levels rewards you with sliding puzzle bonus stages.

How to Play

The objective is to survive as long as possible or defeat your opponent by clearing falling blocks before they fill the screen to the top. Align three or more matching Sanrio characters horizontally, vertically, or diagonally to clear them. Use the D-Pad (Arrow Keys) to move and speed up the falling pieces, and press the A or B button (Z or X) to cycle the order of the characters in your current block.

Tips

• Set up chain reactions: Try to build columns where clearing one set of characters drops the remaining pieces into another match for massive bonus points.
• Keep the board flat: Avoid building a single tall tower of blocks, as this limits your movement and makes it difficult to recover if you get a sequence of unwanted pieces.
