Game description:

Rockman 5 – Blues no Wana! is the Japanese release of Mega Man 5, a classic action-platformer developed by Capcom and released for the NES (Famicom) in 1992. The game follows Rockman as he battles a new army of eight Robot Masters, supposedly led by his brother Blues (Proto Man). This entry notably introduces a more powerful charged Mega Buster and features the debut of Beat, a robotic bird companion that can be unlocked by collecting hidden letter plates across the stages.

How to Play

Navigate the stages and defeat enemies using the D-pad (mapped to arrow keys) to move, climb, and slide. Press A (Z) to jump and B (X) to shoot your arm cannon. Press Start (Enter) to pause the game and access your weapon menu, where you can equip special weapons obtained from defeated bosses.

Tips

  • The charged Mega Buster in this game has a very large hitbox; use it frequently to easily clear paths of standard enemies.
  • Gravity Man's stage features gravity-flipping mechanics; you can still shoot while upside down, so be ready to adjust your jumping and dodging mid-air.
  • Defeating Star Man early gives you the Star Crash, a shield weapon that absorbs projectiles and damages enemies, making difficult platforming sections much safer.
