Developed by Konami and released for DOS in 1984, Road Fighter is a classic top-down vertical racing game. Rather than competing directly against other drivers for position, your primary opponent is the fuel gauge. You must weave through heavy highway traffic, dodge hazards, and reach the finish line of each stage before your fuel runs out.
How to play
Use the arrow keys to steer, accelerate, and brake. You must reach the end of the course before the fuel meter depletes. Hitting oil slicks or civilian cars will cause your vehicle to skid or crash, costing you valuable time and fuel.
Tips
- Fuel management: Keep an eye out for the special rainbow-colored cars. Passing them without crashing will reward you with a fuel refill.
- Recovering from skids: If you bump into another vehicle and start to spin, quickly steer into the direction of the skid to straighten out and avoid a full crash.
