Quiz H.Q. (released as Quiz H Q Japan) is a 1990 trivia arcade game developed by Taito, serving as a unique spin-off to the popular Chase H.Q. driving series. Released exclusively in Japan, it trades the high-speed racing of the original games for quiz-based gameplay, retaining the classic crime-fighting theme while challenging your knowledge.
How to Play
Players reprise the roles of police officers Tony Gibson and Raymond Broady. Instead of steering your way to the suspect’s vehicle, you close the distance by answering multiple-choice and yes/no questions. Correct answers allow you to catch up to the fleeing criminals, while incorrect answers penalize you by taking away a life. To play in the browser, use the Arrow keys to navigate and the primary action buttons (typically Z, X, C, or V) to select your answers. Use 5 or Shift to insert coins, and 1 or Enter to start the game.
Tips
- Between the main trivia rounds, you will face various mini-gamesโsuch as a memory-matching card game at a bar and a shooting range challenge. Succeeding in these provides a helpful break and extra points.
- Because this is the original Japanese arcade release, all questions and text are in Japanese. Unless you can read the language, you will have to rely on trial and error to deduce the correct answers and catch the suspects!
