Puzzle De Pon! is a match-three puzzle arcade game released in 1995. Heavily inspired by the classic Bust-A-Move (Puzzle Bobble) series, you take control of a pointer at the bottom of the screen to shoot colored orbs upwards. Instead of needing to clear the entire screen of bubbles, your primary goal is to knock down the special drop token placed at the top of the board by clearing the colored orbs attached to it.
How to Play
Aim and fire your colored orbs at the cluster above. Matching three or more of the same color causes them to pop and drop any bubbles hanging beneath them. Your objective is to reach the “drop token” at the very topโonce it is detached and falls, the stage is complete. Controls map to the directional keys for aiming, with an action button to fire your orb.
Tips
- Aim for the roots: Don’t waste time clearing bubbles at the bottom if you have a clear shot at the higher clusters holding them up. Dropping a large group at once saves time and pushes you closer to the token.
- Use the walls: Bouncing your shots off the side walls is essential for reaching tight spots and maneuvering around obstacles.
