Released in 1992 for the NES, Power Blade 2 is a fast-paced action platformer developed by Natsume and published by Taito. You once again take on the role of NOVA, a futuristic warrior armed with a lethal boomerang, on a mission to dismantle the corrupt Delta Foundation before they deploy a new cyborg army. The game features tight controls, non-linear stage selection, and the ability to find four elemental power suits that grant new attacks to help you fight through enemy forces.
How to Play
Your objective is to clear all stages, defeat the bosses to acquire new power suits, and stop the Delta Foundation. Use the D-pad to move, duck, and climb ladders. Press A to jump and B to throw your boomerang, which can be thrown in eight different directions. Pressing Start pauses the game and brings up your inventory to switch power suits. In the browser, these controls map to the Arrow Keys for movement, Z for B, X for A, and Enter for Start.
Tips
- Use your boomerang’s eight-way aiming to clear out enemies from above or below before you jump onto dangerous platforms.
- You can slide by pressing down and the jump button at the same time, which is essential for dodging fast projectiles or slipping into tight spaces.
- Each boss is weak to a specific elemental suit. Experiment with your different suits if you are struggling to defeat a boss.
