Pirate Ship Higemaru is a classic 1984 action-puzzle arcade game developed by Capcom. Set on the deck of a pirate ship, you control the sailor Momotaru as he fends off the villainous Higemaru pirate crew. How to play
The objective is to clear each stage of pirates by picking up barrels and hurling them across the deck. When thrown, a barrel will slide in a straight line until it hits an obstacle, knocking out any pirates caught in its path.
Controls: Insert a coin (usually Shift) and press Enter to start. Use the Arrow keys to move Momotaru. Press the action button (usually Z, X, or Ctrl) while facing a barrel to pick it up, and press it again to throw it.
Tips
- Line them up: A thrown barrel will continue sliding until it hits a solid object. Try to bait multiple pirates into a single row or column to score massive combo points with one throw.
- Find the items: Some barrels hide bonus point items or flashing power-ups that grant temporary invincibility, allowing you to defeat pirates just by touching them.
- Create chokepoints: Unmoved barrels act as walls. You can use them defensively to funnel enemies into a narrow path before unleashing a barrel down the line.
