Piranha Older is an early ROM revision of Piranha, a 1981 arcade maze game developed by GL and published by U.S. Billiards. This title is a legendary unauthorized bootleg of Pac-Man that replaces the iconic yellow protagonist with a hungry red piranha and the ghosts with pursuing squids. While the graphics have an aquatic theme, the underlying maze layout and gameplay mechanics remain identical to the original arcade classic.
How to Play
Your objective is to clear the maze by eating all the dots while evading the four squids. Eating one of the four energizer pellets in the corners of the maze will temporarily turn the squids blue, allowing your piranha to eat them for bonus points. Use Shift to insert a coin, Enter to start, and the Arrow Keys to guide your piranha through the maze.
Tips
- Use the side warp tunnels to quickly escape the squids. Enemies move slower through the tunnel, giving you an easy way to build distance.
- Try to bait the squids into clumping together near an energizer pellet so you can eat them all in quick succession for maximum points.
