Block Gal is a unique block-breaker arcade game released by Vic Tokai and Sega in 1987. Taking the classic Arkanoid formula in a different direction, you do not control a standard paddle. Instead, you guide a girl across the bottom of the screen, kicking a bouncing ball to destroy the blocks above. Clearing the blocks gradually reveals an anime-style background image.
How to Play
Your objective is to break all the destructible blocks in each stage without letting the ball fall past the bottom edge of the screen. Use the Arrow keys to move your character left and right, and press Z or X to kick the ball. Positioning yourself properly is crucial to keeping the ball in play.
Tips
- Pay attention to where the ball makes contact with your character; hitting it while moving or catching it on the edge of your sprite can alter its return angle.
- Some blocks drop power-ups. Prioritize catching these to gain advantages and clear the screen faster.
- The game is fast-paced, so keep your character moving toward the center of the screen when the ball is high up to give yourself the best chance of reacting.
