Nekketsu Koukou Dodgeball Bu: Soccer Hen brings the rough-and-tumble action of the Kunio-kun series to the soccer pitch. Released in 1990 by Technōs Japan for the Famicom (and later localized as Nintendo World Cup), this arcade-style sports game tosses the referee out the window. Teams battle across unique terrains like slippery ice and dirt fields, using aggressive tackles and devastating power shots to secure victory.
How to Play
The objective is to outscore the opposing team while surviving the brutal gameplay. Since there are no fouls, you are encouraged to play aggressively. Use the Arrow keys to move your player. Press Z to pass the ball or perform a slide tackle, and X to shoot or execute a shoulder tackle. Pressing Z and X together unleashes a powerful super shot when you have the ball, or makes you jump when you don’t. Press Enter to start or pause the match.
Tips
- Play dirty: Don’t hesitate to tackle opposing players repeatedly. If an opponent takes enough damage, they will be knocked out for the rest of the half, giving your team a numerical advantage.
- Manage your super shots: You are limited to five super shots per half, so save them for when you have a clear opening at the goal.
- Watch your step: Pay attention to the field conditions; ice fields will cause you to slide, making it harder to change direction quickly and avoid incoming tackles.
