Naughty Mouse Set 2 is a classic platform arcade game released in 1981 by Amenip (also known under the title Woodpecker). In this vintage vertical-screen title, you take control of the titular Naughty Mouse with a single objective: navigate from your house at the bottom of the screen all the way up to your girlfriend’s house at the top, jumping over obstacles and evading enemies along the way.
How to play
Insert a virtual coin with Shift or Select, and press Enter or Start to begin. Use the Arrow keys (or your D-pad) to climb ladders and move across platforms, and the main action button (such as Z, X, or Space) to jump.
As you make your way to the top, watch out for woodpeckers hatching from large eggs on the sides of the screen. Keep in mind that once you climb a ladder, it becomes electrified, meaning you cannot move back down itโso plan your upward route carefully!
Tips
- Plan ahead before you climb, because the electrified ladders will trap you if you ascend into a dead end or an approaching woodpecker.
- Time your jumps carefully to vault over the woodpeckers rather than letting them corner you on a platform.
