Magical Drop II is a fast-paced competitive puzzle game released by Data East for arcade systems in 1996. Players take on the role of vibrant characters inspired by Tarot cards, battling to clear their screens by pulling down and throwing back colored drops. Creating a vertical column of three or more matching drops causes them to pop, triggering chain reactions that send penalty drops to your opponent’s side.
How to Play
The objective is to clear drops before they reach the bottom of your screen while overwhelming your opponent with chain reactions. You control a small character at the bottom who can grab drops from the stack above and throw them back up in a different column.
Default Arcade Controls:
- Arrow Keys: Move left and right
- Z: Pull drops down
- X: Throw drops back up
- Shift / Enter: Insert Coin / Start
Tips
- Master the chain reaction: Don’t just clear drops as you see them. Pull drops of one color, then immediately set up the next color while the first set is popping to build massive chains.
- Grab multiple drops: You can hold multiple drops at once as long as they are the same color. Use this to quickly clear out large sections of a single color blocking your way.
