Lode Runner III: The Golden Labyrinth is a classic arcade puzzle-platformer released by Irem in 1985. As the third coin-operated adaptation of the iconic series, this entry challenges players with 30 carefully selected levels, requiring quick reflexes and sharp strategic planning to collect all the gold and outsmart the relentless pursuing guards.
How to Play
The objective is to collect every piece of gold scattered across the level to reveal the exit ladder to the next stage. You cannot jump, but you can dig temporary holes in brick floors to trap incoming enemies and safely walk over them. In the browser, use the arrow keys to move and climb ladders. Press Z to dig to your left and X to dig to your right. Press Shift to insert a coin and Enter to start.
Tips
- Trapped enemies will eventually climb out if they aren’t crushed when the floor regenerates. Time your digging carefully to ensure they stay trapped long enough for you to escape.
- If an enemy falls into a hole while carrying a piece of gold, they will drop it for you to retrieve.
- Never dig a hole if you have no way to get out; falling into your own trap without an escape route will cost you a life.
